Michael Ortiz, Chief of Complaince, Ohkay Owingeb Gaming Commission

Michael Ortiz has worked in the gaming industry for the last 14 years. He currently is the Chief of Compliance for the Ohkay Owingeb Gaming Commission and handles the day to day regulatory needs of the Ohkay Casino. Prior to that position, Mr. Ortiz worked in Casino Operations at several Tribal Casinos with an emphasis in Cage, Slots, and General Management. He was instrumental in the initiation of the New Mexico Responsible Gaming Committee in 1997, where he sat as Vice Chair for the organization. Mr. Ortiz also sat as Vice Chair for the New Mexico Association of Indian Gaming Commissions and is still an active member of the organization and currently sits on the New Mexico Indian Gaming Intelligence Network as Chairman. He has also consulted with local and out of state tribes on all aspects of gaming.
