Indian Gaming 2015: Associate Member Meeting

30th ANNUAL NATIONAL INDIAN GAMING ASSOCIATION
GAMING 2015 ASSOCIATE MEMBER MEETING

San Diego, March 31, 2015 - This morning the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) Associate Member Meeting was held in conjunction with Indian Gaming 2015. The agenda was filled with discussion items that resonate with our Associate Members. NIGA Executive Director, Jason Giles welcomed the Associate Members and spoke of their significance to the association. Executive Director Giles expressed how NIGA's Associate Members have really stepped up over the years and the appreciation the association has for them.

Understanding the needs of our Associate Members, Executive Director Giles announced the addition of a Membership Director position with the completion of the expanded NIGA office building. This important position will work alongside the NIGA Executive Director, Deputy Director and the Chairman. NIGA is dedicated to providing its Associate Members the attention they deserve so all can continue to grow.

Great friend and NIGA Associate Member, Rochanne Hackett was remembered during the Associate Meeting. Rochanne helped immensely with the NIGA building office expansion and helped streamlined NIGA's financials with the building construction. This evening the Celebration of Life - Rochanne Hackett's Memorial Reception will be held in honor of NIGA's dear friend. Her family will be in attendance and are raising money in Rochanne's honor for the pancreatic foundation. Fellow Associate Members remembered her strong presence, as she will be missed.

The remainder of the agenda included a presentation from the Spirit of Sovereignty Update by David Garelick. Mr. Garelick encouraged NIGA's Associate Members to support Native youth in the areas of exposure and education. Randy Anoatubbly from the Carlisle Project also gave an update during the meeting, as did Val Red-Horse of the White Earth Mission Project.

Dialogue amongst NIGA's Associate Members continued on the topics of interest to the members before the meeting adjourned. NIGA again thanks its Associate Members for the work they do with us throughout the country.
