Washington, D.C. – November 19, 2018 – National Indian Gaming Association Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr., announced today that they will be hosting a three-day session targeting all aspects of Class II Gaming. The Class II Immersion workshop is scheduled for December 10-12, 2018 at the New York/New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chairman Stevens said, “The goal of the workshop is to bring together tribal leaders, tribal gaming executives, Indian gaming regulators and commissioners together to discuss the importance of Class II gaming and the substantial economic impacts to tribal government gaming and tribal communities.”

Stevens added, “We are already getting a great response from tribal leadership and gaming professionals who will be serving as keynote and session speakers about their success with Class II gaming. Matched with the insight from the attendees, who are the gaming experts throughout Indian country, this workshop will be a great educational opportunity for tribal communities or gaming operations interested in the possibilities of this gaming option.”

Along with Chairman Stevens, Leadership speakers committed to attend are Lloyd Matheisen, Chairman of the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians of California, Verlon Jose, Vice Chairman of the Tohono O’odham Tribe and Jamie Hummingbird, Executive Director of the Cherokee Nation Gaming commission,and Chairman of the National Tribal Gaming Commissioners & Regulators (NTGCR,) and Victor Rocha, President of Victor Strategies to name a few.

Highlights of some of the agenda items include updated information on the following:
Class II Technical Standards 101
Class II Internal Controls 101
Mixed Gaming Floors Class II and Class III facilities
Policies and procedures, guidelines and checklists for effective regulation
Auditing requirements and software verification
Real examples from tribes operating both types of gaming facilities
The impact of Class II on current and future Tribal/State compacts.

Topics of discussions with tribal leadership will include case study success stories, examples from tribes in their use of Class II gaming devices, and how tribes are converting their floor from Class III to a mixed use of Class II and Class III machines with the eventual removal of Class III compacted games.

In addition, vendors will be onsite to showcase some of their latest gaming devices to show examples of Class II machines. Manufacturers will showcase the evolution of Class II games and will share how these devices are

Registration for the Class II session is $799 for member tribes of NIGA or other tribal or regional gaming organizations and $999 for non-members of NIGA or other tribal or regional gaming organizations and includes a full breakfast each morning and two lunch keynote session.

NIGA is also offering a special hotel room rate of $48.00 a night. Deadline to book your hotel room at that special rate is November 21, 2018.
